Fishing on Leech this year has been as good as it's been and continues to be strong. The great thing about this time of year is as a walleye angler you can catch them with many different techniques.
The jig and minnow bite is still strong and really shines on flat calm sunny days. Our target areas during these conditions are the fresh cabbage beds that are starting to grow.
The ol' stand by rig and leech, crawler or redtail minnow has been great on the flats. The key here is using a snell at least 6 feet in length.
The spinner bite is just starting to get going. As the water temps climb the main lake rocks are turning on. We like to pull spinners because the amount of water we can cover. Simply contacting more fish.
Here are some big fish pics from recent guide trips on Leech.
